THE MEANING OF COLOURS

We wear particular colours just because of our personal preference or fashion. However, every colour has it's special meaning or use.
BLACK, for example, is regarded as adequate for serious occasions and in many countries, both in Europe and in other continents, it is traditional for funerals. However there are some countries, like China or India, where white is worn at funerals.
GREEN is usually thought to be a calming colour so it is often used in places like doctors' waiting rooms.
BLUE is a symbol of loyalty, trust, intelligence and for this reason fashion consultants recommend wearing blue clothes to job interviews.
RED, for instance, is a romantic colour which people often associate with love and passion, thus if you want to attract and appeal to your partner wear a red dress for a date with him.
Some colours may be chosen for practical reasons. Road workers, who need to be clearly visible to drivers at all hours of the day and night often wear jackets in bright YELLOW or ORANGE colour.
To sum up, next time when you go to shop to buy something to wear in your favourite colour, stop and think: What does it say about you?
